Designed to sit on a pre-existing excavation perched on the side of a hill with views to the Kinglake Ranges over a wide valley below. The owner-builder clients wanted to incorporate reclaimed materials and fittings that they had collected. They were after a small, simple open-plan, but with a feeling of generous space. It won the Nillumbik Shire 2013 Sustainable Building Award.
