ROGERSON-LANE House

St Andrews, 2012

A large family with young children wanted to open up their introverted rectangular brick-veneer. Very minimal changes were made to the external fabric of the house: only a new fly-wired outdoor room within the unusually wide existing verandah, and a new reclaimed timber stair connecting to the pool below. Instead the internal spaces were re-worked to make more logical connections within and open out to take advantage of views to the bush. All of the joinery including bookshelves were built from recycled hardwood.
